Lake Spanaway Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Tacoma, Washington.
Lake Spanaway Golf Course opened for play in 1967. The course was designed by Vernon Macan and Ken Tyson.
Lake Spanaway Golf Course is maintained by the Parks and Recreation Services division of Pierce County and is managed by Premier Golf Centers LLC. Lake Spanaway Golf Courset is a classic course that appeals to the novice player but also challenges the best players in the region. From the old growth Douglas firs that line every fairway to the well placed bunkers and large greens, Lake Spanaway is a great Washington golf experience. The greens are large and the breaks are somewhat subtle at times. This is a challenging, yet fair, golf course for golfers of all levels and ages.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6,973 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,906 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 521 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 14, a par-3 that plays to 144 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 438 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 14, a 144 yard par-3.

Lake Spanaway is a great course. My Complaint is that they allow 5- somes and that really slowes the pace of play, resulting in 5 to 6 hour round. I do not understand why Premier Golf Centers allows this.
